The UTC Massacre marks Warren’s first large-scale public deployment of Brain Rot, resulting in mass casualties.
Detailed Plot Summary
On August 10, 2024, Warren unleashes his technique "Brain Nourishment" which is then corrupted by Envy to become “Brain Rot” within the University Town Center Mall. The attack causes catastrophic structural damage to the building, collapsing sections of the floor and creating a massive crater in the central atrium. Hundreds of civilians are killed or fatally injured in the initial blast.
Troy Demasters, who was in a second-floor bathroom when the technique was unleashed, emerges into the destroyed mall and attempts to assist survivors. Drawing upon the abundant cursed energy in the air, he reinforces his body with his bronze armor technique and searches for his friends.
Upon reaching the atrium, Troy discovers widespread devastation and numerous casualties. He eventually locates Jack buried within rubble at the center of a large crater. Though critically injured, Jack is still alive.
As Troy attempts to reach him, he is struck by an intense psychic assault originating from a shadowy humanoid figure composed entirely of darkness. The presence appears to be a powerful curse manifested in the aftermath of Brain Rot. Overcome by searing pain and overwhelming rage, Troy attempts to counterattack but collapses before making contact. He loses consciousness.
In the aftermath of the massacre, local authorities secure the scene while concealing the supernatural cause of the event. Pavel Constantinescu and Elysia Fielding arrive to assess the damage and tend to survivors. Elysia confirms that Troy is alive, prompting Pavel to remark on his exceptional potential.
