The Purge Corps is a classified branch of the United States military. The group consists of buzzutsu sorcerers who are employed to fight curses.
Overview
The Purge Corps conducts operations both domestically and abroad, focusing on curses which could potentially pose a threat to American national security. Most of its constituent sorcerers were normal soldiers who learned the truth of the cursed world, and chose to serve in a different capacity with the Purge Corps

Probably created in the 20th century, possibly in response to growing cursed energy in the world
