Fenix de la Vega
Fenix de la Vega is a side character of the Buzzutsu Kaisen series and older brother of Diego de la Vega. He graduated from Buzzutzu Academy and chose to retire from sorcery, instead becoming a high school math teacher and living a quiet life with his family.
Appearance
Fenix is of average height and average build, usually sporting shaggy business clothes with a loose tie and clear frame spectacles. He has black hair and black eyes.
Personality
Sarcastic to a fault, Fenix's sharp wit often cuts deep. While most other things exhaust him, Fenix has a deep love for mathematics, his students, and his brother.
Abilities and Powers
Buzzutsu
Fenix’s cursed technique Reverse Lethality assesses and reverses the lethality of objects in his hands. For example, if Fenix stuck you with a lethal object like a knife, it would only tickle. However, a toothpick is not inherently lethal, so it would become deadly when used as a weapon. Essentially, the more harmless an object is, the more powerful a cursed weapon it becomes. For this reason, Fenix is usually armed with an assortment of toothpicks, pencils, paperclips, and other harmless office supplies.
Fenix also possesses a secret cursed amplification technique: Null Set. This technique harnesses the inherent lethality of “nothing” to deliver a 100% lethal blast. This technique is rumored to be absurdly powerful but in reality, no one is sure, not even Fenix, if this technique is even possible. Null set is a high risk, high reward play, and its uncertain nature serves as a great way to stall or end a fight.
