Troy awakens in Buzzutsu Academy’s infirmary fully healed by Elysia and is given an orientation tour by fellow first-years Diego and Nicole. Detailed Plot Summary

Troy awakens suddenly in a white infirmary room after the Pinebrook mission, disoriented and unnerved by a voice he believes spoke to him while he slept. Diego and Nicole enter and explain that Elysia treated him and brought him directly to the infirmary before returning to training. Troy realizes his burns have been fully healed and that he has been redressed.

Diego and Nicole explain that Troy’s arrival was unusual because he had to be brought in “through the back” due to injuries. To compensate, they show Troy an animation of the academy’s main entrance: the academy is concealed behind the outward appearance of a Chillibees restaurant through a perception-altering mirage.

Nicole argues for stopping at the cafeteria first to give Troy time to recover and potentially allow teachers to finish a meeting. In the cafeteria, Troy learns the academy is very small—roughly ten students total with a staff size comparable to the student body. Diego reassures Troy that although the life is dangerous, sorcerers can survive into adulthood, citing his brother’s graduation and normal life afterward.
