The Emissary's innate technique, the Reconstruction Technique allows her to transport herself and any object or person she is touching to any given location by imagining the location in her mind. The Emissary of Sin, or simply the Emissary, is a side antagonist of the Buzzutsu Kaisen series. She is the most powerful member of the Sindicate and planned to serve as the vessel for the sins.

Appearance

The Emissary is an older woman with a tall figure and well-defined physique. Her tan skin is covered with scars, some gained through battle and some self-inflicted. She sports blue-grey desert-like garments with her white (with a few remaining strands of red) hair braided down her back. Despite her age and scars, The Emissary remains strikingly beautiful. She appears younger than her actual age due to her time spent in the Spirit World.

Personality

The Emissary is an arrogant and confident sorcerer, showing little care for her own well-being. She is a single-minded individual, disregarding anything that is irrelevant to her goals. She has been shown to be flamboyant and theatrical, toying with her opponents due to her confidence in her own abilities.

Since being chosen by the Sindicate to serve as their emissary, she has become a zealous follower of Sin, believing herself to be the only person who can reunite the aspects of Sin and resurrect him. She has since dedicated her life to the pursuit of his resurrection, viewing his resurrection as the only path to salvation for humans.

After her time in the Spirit World and learning of the existence of Gabriel de Leon-Mensah, she realizes that she is unable to resurrect Sin by herself. After returning from the Spirit World, she retains much of her confidence and enjoyment for theatrics, but is shown to accept her role as merely a pawn in a grander scheme.

Abilities and Powers

Equipment

The Emissary has a concealed Katar dagger, the Black Fang, that has the unique property of slowing the healing of any cut it inflicts.

Buzzutsu

The Emissary possesses the Bloodstep technique that allows her to teleport anywhere she pleases. The catch is that her technique requires a blood sacrifice before allowing her to teleport. What used to require the sacrifice of a small animal to trigger the technique, now can be done by herself as the Emissary learned reverse-cursed technique to rapidly heal after offering her own blood (her dagger facilitate the offering of blood but also prevents her healing from being 100% effective, hence the various scars across her body). After the blood is spilt, she simply has to fall into it to arrive at her destination. The greater the distance traveled, the more blood must be offered.

Battles and Events

Children of Eden

In 1976, Crina Constantinescu, a member of the Children, chose to flee for the sake of her unborn son, Pavel. In 1981, the Emissary discovered Crina's whereabouts and executed her and her entire family as punishment. Unbeknownst to the Emissary, young Pavel Constantinescu survived due to his latent cursed energy healing. He was found by the Buzzutsu Council to be protected from the Children. He later assumed a prominent position within Buzzutsu Academy due to his powerful technique.

During the raid on the Children's underground lair by the Olobukuns and buzzutsu sorcerers, the Emissary attempts to escape using her technique but is mortally wounded. Lying in a growing pool of her own blood, feeling the life drain from her, The Emissary activates her technique and sinks into her blood- finding herself in the Spirit World.

Raphael Interlude 1

In her eight years in the Spirit World, the Emissary learns that Gabriel de Leon-Mensah, one of three remaining Olobukuns, poses a danger to the Earth in that he is a capable vessel of the Seven Deadly Sins. She conceives of a plot to goad Gabriel into tracking down the Artifacts of Sin. She then tracks down the three remaining Olobukuns to their home in Umbwe, Tanzania. She ambushes and kills Lateo de Leon-Mensah and Nia de Leon-Mensah while their son, Gabriel, is at work. When Gabriel returns, he finds the bodies of his parents. His father, Lateo, is barely alive, and with his dying breath entrusts Gabriel to defeat Sin. Gabriel exits his house and finds the Emissary waiting for him. She explains the millennia-long conflict between the Sindicate and the Olobukuns, then tells Gabriel that the Olobukun line will end with him. She uses her technique to bring Gabriel to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and tosses him an axe with which to defend himself. Gabriel has unlocked his dormant virtuous energy, and is able to defeat the Emissary. Gabriel tells the Emissary that he will find the Seven Deadly Sins and put an end to Sin once and for all. The Emissary gives a crooked smile before Gabriel leaves her to die. Gabriel changes his name to Raphael and embarks on his journey to defeat Sin.

Later that day, Mr. C confronts a dying Emissary and the two discuss the condition of the world. Then, the Emissary dies.

Trivia

The Emissary is a title given to whoever is chosen to be the Children's hand of vengeance. Her real name is Vetra, but it is a name she abandoned long ago.
